Construction Superintendent

Position Description

The Construction Superintendent provides on-site coordination for all phases of Commercial construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. The Superintendent is responsible for maintaining job site safety, quality control, and coordinates required inspections with local jurisdictions, while acting at the liaison between NPSG Development  and the client.

 Responsibilities:

  • Develops and Updates project schedules
  • Assists with the buyout and selection of major subcontractors and coordinates the work of subcontractors
  • Maintains accurate cost reports
  • Schedules subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion
  • Performs quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed
  • Walks project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning
  • Maintain daily log of activities on the jobsite
  • Ensures subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team
  • Ensures that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner
  • Performs job progress and completion punch list identification and completion
  • Perform superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously

Experience/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in a construction related discipline a plus
  • 5+ years extensive commercial construction experience
  • Experience in safety/preconstruction/team development/retention/customer interaction
  • Strong engineering and construction management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership, designers, engineers, customers, project team
  • Solid time management and project organization skills
  • High attention to detail and quality control
  • Ability to interact and communicate in a professional manner with clients, realtors, and other visitors as they come to the jobsite
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/assignments in a demanding environment
  • Demonstrates exceptional judgment, discretion and professional courtesy; ability to work independently
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
